Rigorous demands on reliability and the safety of personnel have led increasingly to the automation of the loading process. The concept of a motor-driven transfer stage with a lifting device provides a solution for loading reelstands.
Process
The loading cycle commences with the removal of the cores. The core basket is run between the two reelstand arms. A signal activates the opening of the chucks and the core is intercepted by the core basket. The core basket returns to its park position and the new, fully prepared roll is moved from the wait position on to the transfer stage.
The new roll is positioned centrally or in line with the running web.
The automatic loading with transfer stage is a simplified variant which requires a synchronised movement of transfer stage and reelstand arm.
