EcoPrep, the automated splice preparation solution

An automatic splice preparation unit EcoPrep guarantees high and continuously
reproducible levels of splicing with simultaneous cost-effectiveness.

The EcoPrep automatic splice preparation unit operates with the mulftifunction tape.

The unit comprises a pair of support rollers with lifting device recessed in the floor, the preparation unit with lifter, the vacuum cylinder for the topmost layer of the roll, the cutter for the paper web and the adhesive tape dispenser.

The stripped paper roll runs into the EcoPrep by means of a roll trolley, is lifted up by the support rollers and is ready for the splice preparation. The complete preparation unit is lowered on to the paper roll, the vacuum cylinder picks up the topmost layer of the paper roll, lifts it and enables the adhesive tape dispenser to paste the tape on to the paper roll.
The paper web is severed at a precisely defined point on the vacuum cylinder so that by careful pressing, the end of the web is positioned exactly in the centre of the adhesive tape.
The pasting process is now completed and the prepared roll, aligned parallel, is lowered on to the platform of the roll trolley.
